Printmaking continued.

These are examples of Intaglio printing, using engraving marks to dig into plexiglass. Ink is then rubbed and brushed into the marks, and pressed into soaked paper so the fibers lift the ink out of the marks. A very much involved process, but extremely rewarding!

Printmaking, a passion

Printmaking became a passion of mine. Recently, so recently in fact that I won't even consider myself a print-maker, oh but how I wish I were!

Here are some of the works that I did this past fall. Anyone know of any classes offered on the subject? I would love to learn learn learn. I also want to build my own studio. That is a far off dream, but a dream nonetheless.

Photography Work with Redeem&Record

In the fall, I had the pleasure of photographing a friend who set out to create a podcast and blog featuring interviews with songwriters at Gordon College.

He successfully did both, with now more than ten interviews and live recordings, Tony Papia has provided a space for student musicians to talk about and play their music.

It has created a buzz around campus, allowing the student body to see who is writing and seeking music out.

As a student myself, the music scene is one that has been covered and thought to be dead, but many thanks to the writers coming out hiding with the help of Tony and Redeem. I have heard such a cropping of talented kids and hope to keep listening to them!

Before I ever went to college, I was looking at brochueres and websites and always believed that every iamge of any yound adut was stock. a stock photo.

Then my eyes were opened! I found that I could become one of those happy smiling college students in the library or on the quad with a guitar and daisy chain crown if I really wanted to.

So I did.

Here is just a fun little shot.

Job hunting? And Boston.

I am still trying to figure out the best way to design wedding invitations for brides and grooms to be: outsie of hunting down every engaged couple on my campus and attacking them with my portfolio.

Please oh please, Engaged! Come to me! Hunt me down!

Until then, I will still create and photograph and live out the new year. Not a resolution, more like I can't do anything but.

Santa Barbara, California. It is quite the lovely area. Sunny (Spring starts around New Year's), laid back, sandy.

Every so often I feel called to come back here. But it is such a tension between my home, my roots and the Northshore, which is where I fell in love with four years ago.

So for now, until I have to decide where to settle, I take photos.

Christmas Time is near...so near

I need design jobs. Let me rephrase, I would like some design jobs. Anyone know any?

I started crafting presents several weeks ago for my family members, and I can't believe that it has taken me so long to realize how much I love to sew and make things for people. I miss the time spent on something.

I made a couple stuffed animals for my sisters, some embellished clothing, prints. I recycled Christmas this year! However, I don't know how to market myself well enough.

Regardless, I have an internship for my last semester in college! One for which I am so thankful and excited for: Figs&Ginger, a fantastic company of jewelry created by a husband and wife team. Not only do I know about the company and own their jewelry, I listen to Elijah's music often, so i am excited to work for a couple that I value and appreciate.
